Upon my tongue two lovers are swirling
twisting their flesh
The fire burns, I hear them screaming
for all their sins
Everytime I hear them cryin', I cry.
Everytime I feel them smilin', I cry.
I smell their fear, the fear of loss, their pain and the anger
It's a gordian knot, a note of evil souls, it's pure satanic
Only Death tear apart the hearts and desires
Till the end they will breathe devotion
Only Death will unmark the eternal fire
Till the end... the Synastry of Heartbeats
We share the same pulse
We are the perfect pair
In our world there is no rush
We give birth to life and despair
Into the void, I'm walking eternally
Holding your hand and pretending how life should be
We are falling; we are fading like a moribund pulsar
These moments are the last ones, this is the Synastry of Heartbeats
Upon my tongue two lovers are yearning
The eternal love
Trapped in Utopia, seeking and dreaming
Ablazed their souls
Upon my tongue two corpses are rotting
for centuries
this smell embodied my thoughts and feelings
into my own coffin

about
"Mnemosyne", a title that derives from the Greek goddess of remembrance and the river of memory, cloaks an album of noir aesthetics and emotional extremity that took Aenaon six years to assemble. Masterminded by the Hellenic four-piece of guitarist & bassist Achilleas C. (Varathron, Katavasia), drummer Haris (Varathron), vocalist Astrous (Katavasia) and saxophonist Orestis Zyrinis, the album captures the essence of dark and heavily textured avant-garde black metal, with an exotic, jazz-like touch of the sax. "As always, we have been silent but creatively restless, aiming to a timeless creation", asserts Aenaon, whose Greek meaning translates to "the Eternal".
"Mnemosyne" offers nine new songs, recorded, mixed and mastered by Achilleas C. at Suncord Audiolab in Ioannina, Greece. The painting that adorns the cover was created by Ben Howe. Ra.design prepared the layout.

What a trip. I almost forgot how extraordinarily excellent and excellently extraordinary it was.
Some clear Arcturus influence (e.g. Palindrome), but a lot of personal touch as well.
The best Aenaon so far? unidual
So much pure and slimy fun that it's simply hilarious. But why not enjoy being devoured by The Great Mollusca if you can't help it anyway? This release is just insanity and ingenuity becoming music at the same time. Da capo 🖤 mourner
Utterly indescribable new record from Greek metal band Locust Leaves features corkscrewing tempos, manic vocal shifts & dense arrangements. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 6, 2017
Technically melodic death metal in perfect, it not short, form. Definitely a step up from Revenant. This EP is incredibly intense and super heavy, but doesn't sacrifice any melody in order to obtain that heaviness. The soul-crushing weight is only enhanced by the tortured and epic melodies. An excellent EP indeed! jeff8502
